Clearing your Crystals from the Memories of the Past
Raw crystals and gemstones bring us ammunition as we take back our power, reclaim our wings and soar high above the clouds. The process of evolving isn’t all lotus flowers in bloom and is at times deeply dark and painful. Ancient gemstones carry within them alive energetic vibrations, which comfort and support us through our metamorphic evolution. Those memories linger and leave a residue.
Here are some energy clearing methods to renew your stones (and you) and free them (and you) of the residual past:
Keep in mind where each individual gem came from. Bury them in rich, fertile dirt, coconut cork, and sand! Create a pot of fertile and organic soil and other earthy materials like sea shells, which may have been present during their creation. Fully immerse your stones deep down into the dirt. Leave them in there for a good while as they remember who they are, clear their energies, and recharge.
Immerse your stones in pure water, salt water, and or rainwater! Not all stones like the water, although I would wager they all need a little wipe down and exposure to water. Crystals that end in “ite” tend not to like water. Emerald Auralite, Selenite, Kyanite, and Calcite for example would rather return to the earth (dirt) and get simple water to wipe down than be fully immersed for long periods. Larimar being born of both water, the sea, and fire LOVES water! You can give them a bath, or soak them for a period of time in a clear glass bowl full of water. Store in a cozy, possibly dark free from false lighting, amenable temperature for their doshas, sacred corner of your space.
Salt clearing ritual. Prepare a bowl of black salt, sea salt, or other sacredly intentioned salt and place your crystals in a glass bowl for a period of time to recharge, clear and regain strength.
Selenite is a powerful clearing crystal. Place your crystals on top of selenite, or use a Selenite tower in the center of your grids to charge and clear your powerful gems.
Sound resonates deeply with crystals. Play music, singing bowls, flutes, harps, your favorite classical music, or whatever resonates with you around your gems and they will respond with more life just as you do!
Smoke is sacred. Palo Santo, sage, sweet grass, lavender, and other sacred smokes burned around the crystals brings a beautiful clearing or soothing energy to them. Organically and ethically source your smudges as not all are created equal.
Intention holds great power. Sit with your stones in meditation, sing to them, and deliver your energetic intentions to them.
Full Moon Energies are powerful elixirs for you and your stones. Sit them in the direct moonlight, take them out, or place them in the window when the moon is full to imbibe them with more harmony.
Sunlight carries powerfully cleansing energies. Be cautious with the sunlight as it can fade the stones. Stones like Larimar, for example, are very sensitive to the sun. Sunbathing however is very powerful.
Having your gems outdoors, in general, is a powerful tool for clearing. Surrounding them with plants, animals, and joy will assist with clearing the dark memories of the past.
Oilination will heal the nation, and your crystals too. Be selective with what oils you use on your crystals. I wouldn’t put straight essential oil extracts on your stones, I’d use formulas like The Goddess Circle makes, with carrier oils and full of power and balance.
Keep new crystals coming in regularly! A fresh new gemstone or crystal from around the world added to your family of gems will bring a lively abundance of new energy to the ones you’ve journeyed with long and hard. Think of your new crystals as a fresh cup of water for your soul and for your armor.
Florida Water, try it once and you will see why. Named for the fountain of youth, ancient healing Florida Water has been used for healing and hexing for hundreds of years. For Witches, practitioners of Voodoo, Santeria, and other nature-based faiths, Florida Water is part of a ritual, for cleansing, protecting, spells and intentions, emboldening oneself and one's space, and can be used to clear, empower and program your crystals. Sprinkle it into your crystals bath, and give a subtle spritz or dab to the crystals that don’t care for water.
Grow with your gems, build bonds, clear them and remember that the ones you journey with through thick and thin become your armor. They care for you, it’s only fair to do the same in return.
