Pulled Out to Sea 4: Whale’s and the environment

by sarah k grundy

Have you ever heard a whale’s song? After swimming and surfing with dolphins, feeling the deep echo vibration within from a whale’s song, their majesty leaves no questions, and honoring that is what makes us human. Every single whale absorbs 33,000kg of CO2 over its lifetime. 1 tree gobbles up 22kg per year in comparison. Phytoplankton grows wherever whales go & absorb 40% of all CO2. That’s as many as 1.7 trillion trees or 4 Amazon forests. 1% rise in phytoplankton would be like planting 2 billion mature trees. CO2 is at its highest in 3 million yrs and yet whaling (how is that even a thing) nearly drove whales to extinction.

2 Simple Things we Can do:
4 Ocean donates to Whale and Dolphin Conservation with the purchase of their $20. Whale bracelet Donate to warriors of the sea at Sea Shepherd.

How else do you know that we can make a change for these majestic creatures?
